Meet Team HG: Ryan Andersen — Product Launch Specialist

Updated: Sep 6, 2022

Welcome to the HG blog post series, #MeetTeamHG, where we will be posting an interview with each person on our executive team!

Ryan joined Harvest Growth in June 2022. He attended Colorado Mesa University and received a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. He worked in Television, primarily with CBS News, for 13 years. While in SLC, working for CBS, he went back to school at The University of Utah to get a master’s certificate in integrated marketing communications to expand his education. His goal had always been to move back to Denver, so with a bit of resignation, he changed career paths and got a job as an Account Manager for a personal care amenities company, where he spent 7 years. He enjoys playing competitive softball, skiing, spending time in the Colorado mountains and listening to house music in his free time.

Learn more about Ryan in his team interview below!

How long have you been in the marketing/advertising industry?

This is my first job in Marketing. It’s a perfect fit because I grew up going to work with my dad at an Advertising Agency, so it’s always been in my blood. I was excited to start working at Harvest Growth because it allows me to combine my backgrounds in TV and Business Development into one. Now I can use my creative ability along with my communications skills to excel in a whole new career!

Where did you grow up?

I grew up right here in Centennial, CO. I moved around Colorado after College and spent 8 years in SLC, but I always wanted to come back to Denver. It’s home for me and it’s great to have my parents close as well.

Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?

I’ve never been mistaken for a celebrity, but I often get, “you look really familiar”. I guess I have a familiar face!

Favorite recent brand experience?

I’m a big shoe guy, or I guess you could call me a “Sneakerhead”. I think Nike has the best marketing in that space. They do “Shock Drops” and random shoe releases every once in a while and It’s a great way to keep the consumer excited and engaged in their products.

What would you name the autobiography of your life?

“Another trip around the sun” – The memoirs of a man, always looking for adventure – By Ryan Andersen

Favorite quote?

“Life is a long lesson in humility”

What is your least favorite chore?

Cleaning the bathroom: toilet, shower, sinks. It’s all awful and you’ve scrubbed so hard that you're actually sore afterwards.

If you could go to any concert, dead or alive, who would it be?

Led Zeppelin!

What is your hidden talent?

I’m a self-taught “professional” DIY’er. I’m especially good at tiling and I enjoy the process of it along with the satisfaction of the finished product.

Least favorite word?

“Like” – When used as a filler word. When I worked in TV, people would say “Like” in interviews all the time.

What would you do if you won $1,000,000?

Pay off mine and my parents’ mortgages. That would give me great satisfaction.
